Raw Food Books Outline Living Raw Lifestyle
The generation of the baby boomers has been at the heart of many trends over the last few decades because the boomers account for such a large segment of the overall population. Now, they too are facing their own aging issues as they begin moving into their retirement years. But boomers seem unwilling to age "quietly" and are constantly seeking ways to slow down the clock. One trend they have fueled is the living raw movement, because of the health and anti-aging benefits. They are snapping up raw food books to learn as much as they can.
There have been, for a number of years, a few raw food books that detailed the approach and the benefits of a raw food diet lifestyle. But recently, there are a greater number of books, websites, newsletters and programs that are centered on such choices. Experts in watching generational trends have attributed much of the growth in this living foods movement to the baby boomer generation because they account for such a large segment of the population and are now in their mid forties to early sixties.
It is at this stage in a person's life when they often start focusing on different priorities and put higher importance on slowing down aging, reversing disease and improving their health through lifestyle choices. A raw food detox regimen followed by a raw food diet has been shown to be very helpful in these very areas. Raw food books are often filled with the remarkable benefits of eating raw food and also include case studies of people who have improved their health with such a diet.
Books that advocate a "go raw" lifestyle are centered on eating fresh foods in their natural state. They are consumed raw and are not exposed to the cooking process in any way. Raw food cooking can include making the natural foods into purees and juices, but does not include microwaving, baking or cooking on the stove.
Through books that detail the benefits of eating raw food, you will find that the majority of the diet is based on eating fresh fruits and vegetables that are grown organically whenever possible. In addition, nuts, seeds, grains and legumes, and some of the sprouts from them, are a common part of such a regimen. Those who are not following a raw vegan or vegetarian lifestyle can also include fish, meat, eggs and unpasteurized dairy foods such as yogurt, raw cheeses and raw milk.
The majority of raw food books outline the major benefits and advantages to health and vitality from eating raw food as the primary part of a diet. Some of the many benefits that are chronicled are lowered blood pressure and blood sugars, improved cholesterol levels, weight loss, improved sleep patterns and boosted energy levels, in addition to many other benefits. With such broad advantages, it is not surprising that more and more baby boomers are deciding to go raw.

Today's Tip On Raw Food
For the vast majority of the general population, the word "fruitarian" was completely unknown to them until they were in the midst of watching "Notting Hill" and heard a woman describe herself as such. The scene in the movie was a bit comical, but following a fruitarian diet is something that is taken seriously by a small but dedicated group of people.
